Tijuana ranked as the most violent city in the world

Tijuana topped the list with 138 killings per 100,000 Tijuana residents, averaging about seven per day.  A barbed wire was installed by US authorities to reinforce the border in response to the arrival of thousands of migrants traveling in caravans. On the Mexican side of the border, they worried most about the rise in violence. Yanira is a Salvadoran refugee, she has been living in a shelter for two months. She only leave this place to go to her asylum interview appointment in San Diego. La Ciudad de México nos está matando

A migrant caravan group continues its trek towards the Unites States border. Around 2,400 migrants left a city shelter to begin the journey from the Mexican capital early Thursday morning, the latest caravan to embark upon the risky path to the US-Mexican border despite US President Donald Trump’s determination to prevent them from entering. https://youtu.be/fxUHphGHu7w Immigration advocates fear Mexico is not safe for US-bound migrants, who are often kidnapped by gangs and smugglers. ¡Esta columna cumple un año! Cuando concebí la idea de escribir habitualmente una columna de opinión no sabía a qué me estaba enfrentando, pero sentía una estremecedora necesidad de hacerlo. Mexico, more than a tourism destination, is a gastronomic paradise. “Don’t visit the pyramids, dive into the richness of flavor of their popular dishes”, is the advice a foreigner gives to a fellow european countryman who is about to visit the country. I went with Rajan along some of Mexico City’s markets and, among pungent smells of boiling barbacoa and melted cheese, he described his experience in the country using food: “For a mexican, everything revolves around food.
