Valeria León inició su carrera como periodista en Argentina, continuó sus estudios en Salzburgo. Concluyó la Licenciatura en la Ibero, donde fundó la revista universitaria “Adrede, Periodismo a propósito”. Trabajó en el periódico El Universal y en Canal 40. Como reportera, en Reforma y publicó la exclusiva de la primer demanda ganada en México contra un hospital privado por negligencia médica. Estudió la Maestría en el CIDE y se tituló con la tesis: “México en la Prensa Internacional”. Desde 2015, produce contenidos de televisión para cadenas internacionales. Fue columnista semanal en el Huffington Post en donde dos de sus textos fueron los más leídos en 2018. Escribe reportajes de investigación en Newsweek.
CAREER

Valeria Leon is a writer and broadcast journalist whose work focuses on migration, social issues and human rights. She has covered Mexico and Central America for Newsweek, The Huffington Post and Bloomberg, among others. She has also produced several news stories for international media outlets. Recently, she followed the migrant caravans’ journey through Mexico for the English-language Turkish news channel TRT World and FusionTv. She has produced documentaries in Latin America, including the award-winning documentary “Tupamaro” about the armed vigilante groups in Venezuela. She received a BA in Journalism and an MA in Public Affairs.
